I had such high hopes for this book. Not quite as sad the second time around I read this with a friend this time, knowing she would need emotional support, and she got mad at me because I put her through that roller coaster. I really wanted to like these books, but after the insertion o After reading the first book it was good enough to keep reading the other books although I didn’t love it.


The others have had their dark moments, but this was definitely lejaon darkest of the lot. Issues of non-consent were never addressed. The pixies, nymphs, and satyrs of the column come to life and go after the school girls.

If you take these things out I would have liked the books far better. Sexual orientation used as a plot twist. There are far too many points of du,ce that if you call yourself Christian you will probably have a problem with.

Libba Bray seems to possess a magic of her own, peppering words on a page and conjuring a world that is believable and engaging, filled with complex, fully realized characters that lenano sometimes sympathetic and sometimes repellent.
