I enjoyed “Good Grief” very much, so I was hoping I’d like this book, too. Matters aren’t helped by the fact that Ted’s mistress is a beautiful, kindhearted woman with a ten-year-old boy who’s fallen head-over-heels for him.

Sometimes bawdy, sometimes moving, always hilarious, this is a charming, generous book.

Good although sad until the end, where there wasn’t any. There is no way all the characters in this book can end up happy, just as everyone jappiness real life cannot end up happy.
